The Wheatley Water Tower will be undergoing scheduled rehabilitation, starting this month. The Municipality of Chatham-Kent says the construction period has already begun and will last until October 2026. Construction hours will run from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. during the week, with occasional work taking place on weekends. The project involves sand blasting and recoating both the interior and exterior of the water tower. This work will not impact water delivery or water pressure in Wheatley, officials say. Final restoration work, including topsoil replacement, seeding, and fence repairs is scheduled for October. The Municipality of Chatham-Kent appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure maintenance is completed.
